http://www.kancilawards.com/index.php/events/ad-unplugged/461

today went to Ad Unplugged Workshop.. organized by kancil and 95% creative academy. Wanted to go since last year but back then, everyone dont want to do cuz expensive.... but this yr i think probably cuz it's our final year so they decided to go.. haha.. altho the price is pricey..! RM80 per person... Total 6 of us went , included me- Rachel, Alan, Leong Teck, Naufal and Rachel Chu (junior). The workshop starts from 9.30am -6.00pm. Besides us- Alfa International college, there are students from Taylor's, SAITO, UTAR PJ, IACT and 95% academy (it's a copywriting college). There are 40++ students...

All of us are divided into different groups.. there are 10 groups in total. and i was in the first group.. dang.. had to sit the most front right, near a speaker.... 5 people in one group, i met joey, wei ming, imran and one more forgotten his name.. *sorry* gosh, taylor's are so lucky, the college sponsored them to participate in this workshop.. more than 10 students came.. more than RM100++ used.. lucky them.. haha..

In the first half, we got to watch the scene behind kancil award, one that never been reveal before- the interviews of the judges..... such as how they choose the artwork?, what type of artwork attracts them?, what standard they looking for?, what type of artwork able to get gold? and etc.... besides that, they also taught us a simple formula to get idea... shown us several examples of ad such as energizer, BMW M3 and Halo...

i like tis commercial... it's cool and amazing...

Then after lunch, we're given a brief and to brainstorm on that product as a group and to be present later in the evening.. The product we're doing is Monarch Abdominal Guard[ball guard]. Usually sportman used to protect their testicles from getting injury during the game. Those who don't know what a ball guard is enter here: http://images.google.com.my/images?um=1&hl=en&q=Abdominal+Guard

a few of the students cabut after lunch, including leong teck... it's stupid u paid so expensive and u just leave the workshop liddat.. it's like throwing money into the sea...

Anyway, all of us discussed for like 2-3 hours?? Mr Jeff, the grandfather of ECD[ executive creative director, i think] came and helped us, lead us and guide us...

everyone wrote in a given blank A4 while we write in mahjong paper.. lol.. see how messy our so-call-mindmap.. haha

the result we came out of.... Mr. Jeff said he like that we included some local personality in it.. -the Datukship.. haha...

don't get it? Well, basically it says the target audience would use this product because they dont want to be a loser, and with this product it can keeps you in the game and continue to paly til the end.

the idea? instead of giving answer, we provoke question " what else stop you from getting the datukship?" shows that the product keeps u in the game, and with the spirit of not wanting to be a loser, there's nothing else can stop u to win the match. So choose Monarch Abdominal Guard!
